Story Arc(s): Add/remove story arcs to this issue
Hank Pym visits Janet, but she throws him out and says that she will be getting a divorce. Meanwhile, in New Mexico, an embittered Johnny Blaze sees Warren Worthington III cruising down the highway in his red convertible with a beautiful girl, and feels anger, since he has nothing. He turns into Ghost Rider and chases down Warren. He then challenges him to a race. A fight ensues, and Ghost Rider burns the Angel with his hell fire, hospitalizing him. His girlfriend Candy then calls the Avengers for help. Once in the small NM town, the Avenger search for the Ghost Rider. Warren is unconscious and unable to give them any information. Cap & Tigra run into the Ghost Rider first, and he burns them with hellfire. Iron Man then shows up and is burned through his facemask, which he neglected to close. Thor then shows up and is ineffectual, though the Ghost Rider's fire is equally useless against him. The Avengers regroup to confront the Ghost Rider again, though Tigra is scared to, remembering the burn of the hellfire. The Avengers seem to be winning the rematch, when Warren shows up, and is able to talk the Ghost Rider into stopping the fight, and changing back into Johnny Blaze. Cap says that Johnny Blaze reminds him of Hank Pym in a way, letting things get to him, making one mistake, then making it worse.
