Shortly after destroying the heroes and their fortress, Dr. Doom explains to Klaw that he must try to safely contain his limitless power lest he should accidently destroy the universe. What Doom doesn't know is that the remains of the entity, the Beyonder, is secretly hiding in Klaw's body, waiting for the perfect opportunity.
The villains are on their way home adrift a six mile chunk of a Denver suburb guided by the power of the Molecule Man. Inside Valcana's apartment, the Enchantress uses her divining magic to extort information from a water elemental. She learns about the Beyonder's curiosity, how Dr. Doom stole the power of the Beyonder, how Doom effortlessly destroyed the heroes, and how Doom now plans to release his mother's spirit from the clutches of Mephisto. The Enchantress then attempts to drain Valcana's life force so she might have enough power to teleport home, but is thwarted by the Lizard.
Trying to stir up doubt in Doom's mind, Claw suggests a scenario where the heroes do in fact survive. Doom denies the possibility until Thor's hammer smashes through the wall at which point Doom inadvertently let's his power run amok. Klaw convinces Doom to bestow some of his limitless power onto him so that he can personally deal with the reincarnated heroes and a monstrous battle ensues.
When Captain America infiltrates Doom's quarters the Beyonder decides to come forth from Klaw and retake his power from Doom, and the two villains disappear.
The heroes grieve the loss of Zsaji and Mr. Fantastic conceives a teleportation device to enable the heroes return home. The Thing learns he can change to rock form at will on this planet and decides to stay. He asks She-hulk to take his place on the Fantastic Four.
