A powerful mystic being it's assumed Fire-Eyes was incredibly powerful. The only power he showed however during his brief appearance was the ability to blast an intense fire from his eyes.

Fire-Eyes was originally a member of The Five Who Are All, a group of five immeasurably powerful mystic beings who resided in the Region beyond Reality. Doctor Glitternight, who was one of the members, turned on the group and absorbed Fire-Eyes into his own soul before battling the other three; the Cowled One, Goat Child and Burning Snake. Glitternight was defeated in mere moments and the remaining Three Who Are All shrunk him and sent him to our reality, where he ended up on Earth.

Years later, after an initial defeat at the hands of Werewolf by Night and Topaz in his plot to murder every human on Earth and enslave their souls, creating a demon army subservient to him, he reappeared in Haiti in the Devil's Grotto, once again chasing his insane scheme and this time using zuvembies (what Marvel called Zombies during an era where the word zombie wasn't allowed to be published in it's books). Raymond Coker, whose great grandfather ended up being one of these zuvembies, enlisted the help of Brother Voodoo, who in turn enlisted Werewolf by Night. When they travelled to Haiti, they were shocked to see Glitternight as they had believed him dead.

The remaining Three Who Are All guided the werewolf and Brother Voodoo in their quest to defeat Glitternight and save Raymond Coker who had been captured by Glitternight and whose life force was being drained to increase his own. They informed the werewolf that if he freed Fire-Eyes from his own hell (being imprisoned within Glitternight) that his "death" would allow him to control his transformations into the werewolf and retain his own mind and intelligence rather than that of the werewolf's mindless animal instincts.

Goading Dr. Glittenight into releasing Fire-Eyes from his soul, Fire-Eyes attacked the werewolf as he was completely under Glitternight's control. Brother Voodoo however was able to severe Glitternight's link to Fire-Eyes, at which point Fire-Eyes turned on Glitternight and the two powerful mystics battled each other, both apparently being destroyed in the struggle. The destroyed pieces of Fire-Eyes rained down on the werewolf and soaked into him, permeating his soul. This gave Jack Russell the ability to control his transformations into the werewolf and allowed Fire-Eyes to rejoin The Three Who Are All in the Region beyond Reality.
