Bio:
Head of the Holliday Girls, Etta Candy was aptly named. Fat from eating too many sweets, she and the rest of her "sorority" would show up to help Wonder Woman--although it doesn't strike modern readers as particularly plausible that the rotund Candy could really help Wonder Woman.

Interestingly, Candy and her band of "sisters" were at the heart of the Congressional and popular criticism leveled against Wonder Woman. She was frequently brought into a story when Dr. Marston, Wonder Woman's creator and original writer, wanted to have a bondage or spanking scene--for which Sensation and Wonder Woman v. 1, were infamous.

When Marston died, and others took over writing chores on Wonder Woman titles, Etta Candy disappeared. The character was entirely absent in the Silver and Bronze ages.

Other media:
The character was used in the Wonder Woman television series, produced during what would've been the Bronze Age--but foreshadowed her eventual return in 1987. Beatrice Colen's performance in season one, though set in World War II (and thus ostensibly chronicling the adventures of the original Wonder Woman), was somewhat physically similar to Etta Candy I, but otherwise more like the post-Crisis Etta Candy II.]

Notes:
Has a brother in the U.S. Army named Mint Candy. Wonder Woman #1 "The Greatest Feat of Daring in Human History!"

Attends Holliday College in Washington D.C.
